Pipe Quality Makes the Difference
The tried-and-tested, dimensionally stable FRIATHERM rigid drinking water installation system (with its pipes, fittings, bonding agent and further equipment) is conceived for universal application. The system made of the high-grade plastic material chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) may be applied in a traditional fashion within the framework of new building projects as well as modernisation and refurbishment measures. Each product of the complete range (available in dimensions d 16 mm to d 160 mm) is temperature-resistant and designed for permanent load, ensuring its application without any restriction under any operating conditions as per standard DIN 1988, Part 2. The smooth surface of its plastic pipes prevents the formation of deposits or biologically harmful films (for instance calcification) constituting an ideal culture medium for the accumulation of bacteria, including legionella pneumophila. The system's bonded, gap-free connection technology preventing dead water zones provides for additional safety barring the establishment of bacteria cultures. Test series conducted in keeping with DVGW (German Association of Gas and Water Experts) Worksheet W 270 have proved the system's bacteriological safety. The possibility of disinfecting the FRIATHERM rigid pipeline systems by way of pulsating chlorination (i.e. with highly concentrated chlorine) increases the safety standard even more.
